During 2025, Roger gave a talk on “Ships and mythical sea creatures” to Hatfield U3A and one on “The Extraordinary Martin Brothers” to Chilterns Learning for Pleasure (CLfP). There were also courses on “Romanticism and the failure of Science” (three weeks) and “Fishes and Birds; their shape and their appearance in paintings” (five weeks), both to CLfP.
During 2024, Roger gave a talk on “The Ten Plagues of Egypt” and courses (six lectures each) on “Hockney and Nature” and on “Isolation: Artists and Paintings”, the former to a U3A group and the latter two to the WEA.
In January 2023, Roger gave a course of four lectures for the WEA on Birds, Castles and other Symbols in Western Art
